NYWC Update
Greetings from YS!
Wow, it has been a while since we have had the chance to talk. We have heard from many of you asking about what is happening with the National Youth Workers Convention (NYWC) this year. As you can imagine, there are so many details behind the scenes that include contracts with the venue, city, hotels, and logistics regarding travel and safety, etc. Not to mention things being ever-changing with the guidelines and recommendations around gatherings during the pandemic.
We were so hopeful to gather in Columbus, OH, this fall since we didn’t get the chance to in 2020. However, as we have talked with youth workers all over the country, we have heard a pretty common theme: uncertainty. While we all are making plans to get things started in the fall, there still is so much uncertainty about what it will look like that it’s hard to plan for the future until it’s here.
Now more than ever, we would love to be in a room with the people who do what we do and love what we love, but we will have to wait another year. We are taking this time to dream with others about what our next gathering the week of November 14, 2022, in Columbus, OH, could look like.
