By Melissa Brown The laundry room, the Sound Kitchen, and the back of the bus don't sound like great places to record. However they are three of the places chosen to record the amazing worship album, Glory Revealed: The Word of God in Worship. Being recorded in unusual places has not stopped this album from housing the multi-artist hit “By His Wounds,” or being a collection of some great songs that we should hear for years to come. Mac Powell, the front man of Third Day, and David Nasser, author and speaker, came together to honor God using their talents, and those of a stellar group of musicians, for this album of ten songs all created from scripture. The list is quite impressive of those who lent their talents to the album's musically diverse modern acoustic style. David Crowder, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Brian Littrell, Trevor Morgan, Shawn Lewis of Hyper Static Union, Shane & Shane, Candi Pearson-Shelton, Josh Bates, Tim Neufield, and Mark Hall of Casting Crowns all contributed their voices and skills on unique instruments such as a mandolin fiddle, banjo, Dobro, rain sticks, and even an end table and cardboard box.
This album will be appreciated by those who like easy to understand lyrics and songs that recognize the humanity of people. “He Will Rejoice” points out that we will have dark hours and times when we have lost all hope, and reminds us that “He will hold us tight.” Another song, “Who is Like You,” acknowledges that “the Lord is my strength and my song, He has become my salvation.” There is not a ‘skip over’ song on the entire album; instead it stands together as a solid worship project, reminiscent of the City on a Hill worship albums.
