Strengthening & Deepening Your Gospel Impact
There are currently one billion young people in the world—that’s the largest generation of youth in history! It’s no secret that there’s an intense spiritual battle waging for their souls right now. Look no further than recent news headlines to see how the thief that Jesus mentions in John 10:10 is coming to “steal and kill and destroy” this generation.
In an interview with the Barna Group, Cru Missions Director Josh Chen says, “Millennials and Gen Z have higher levels of anxiety than any other generation.” According to Dr. Betsy Nesbit, such high levels of anxiety put them in a constant state of “fight or flight’….” The inner turmoil within these young souls is manifesting itself in epidemics of self-harm, suicides, school shootings, and more. We’re looking at a generation of young people growing up without hope.
How do we reach them? Who can tell them about the other half of John 10:10—about Jesus who says, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”?
At Dare 2 Share, we believe the best person to reach a teenager is another teenager. Our best chance of winning the fight for this generation lies within our own students who already know Christ.
Build a Gospel Advancing Ministry that Reaches #EveryTeenEverywhere
If you’re ready to strengthen and deepen the gospel impact of your youth ministry, it’s time to learn how to build a Gospel Advancing Ministry.
A Gospel Advancing Ministry is one that “relentlessly pursues the mission of Jesus by relationally multiplying disciples resulting in radical gospel transformation.” It’s a ministry zeroed in on one vision—to see every teen everywhere hear the gospel from a friend. It’s built on seven time-tested values pulled directly from the book of Acts, and as the values are implemented, a Gospel Advancing Ministry goes through five stages of spiritual and numerical growth.
This is the “1-7-5″ strategy of building a ministry that makes and multiplies disciples. It’s a strategy that will truly transform the DNA of your youth ministry as you mobilize your teens to reach their world for Christ. I’ll be talking more in-depth about this strategy in a breakout session at NYWC, Youth Specialties conference in Tampa, FL coming up on November 23rd.
First Steps to Building a Gospel Advancing Ministry
So, what are the first steps to strengthening and deepening your gospel impact? Where do you start with building a Gospel Advancing Ministry?
Honestly, the easiest first step is to bring your students to Dare 2 Share LIVE happening on October 12th. At this event, students are trained, equipped, and inspired to relationally share the gospel. This year, they’ll learn how to fight for the souls of their lost friends under the rally cry #Fight2Win based on Ephesians 6:10-12:
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Through evangelism training sessions, times of powerful worship, and an afternoon of local community outreach, students across the country will learn the skills and tactics needed to fight for the lost and show them the love of Christ. You don’t want to miss it! Find a Satellite Site near you and get your Church Kit today.
Another excellent step is to take the Gospel Advancing Diagnostic to see which of the five stages your ministry is currently in. This is an incredibly helpful tool to identify growth areas in your ministry and to point you in the right direction on your Gospel Advancing journey. After you take the diagnostic, you’ll be guided to helpful resources and recommendations for the next steps to take.
Today’s teens need to be rescued from both the hell they’re going to and the hell they’re going through. This world needs youth leaders like you who recognize the dire need to equip their students to share the gospel with their lost friends. We hope you’ll join us at Dare 2 Share LIVE this year and will ultimately join the fight for this generation as a Gospel Advancing Ministry!
