The PK (Pastor’s Kid) Song

May 2nd, 2011

I'm excited to share this! It's a follow up of sorts to the “When Your Kid is the PK” post a couple weeks ago — an original song some of our PK's came up with during our recent Colorado retreat. Watch and enjoy (lyrics below)…

THE PK SONG

You think we got it easy, let me tell you, you're wrong
That's why we're sitting here and singing you this song
Church on Sunday, old folks pinching my cheeks
I get a new bruise almost every week

This is the life of a pastor's kid,
When it comes to Bible trivia, I'm expected to win
25 hours a day, 8 days a week
Stuck in this church with nothing to eat

I've been to more funerals than I have birthday parties
And I'm turned off to romance, cause of all of the weddings
I have a name and it's not “PK”
Why do you have to treat me this way?

This is the life of a pastor's kid,
When it comes to Bible trivia I'm expected to win
25 hours a day, 8 days a week
Stuck in this church with nothing to eat

Got my Bible, got my pen
OMG is she with him?
Stomp your hands, clap your feet–
Got my Bible, got my pen
OMG is she with him
Stomp your hands? clap your feet?
Please tell me its over now!

These pews are hard
My butt is numb
I can't stand up
They'll think I'm dumb
Front row
Middle seat
All these people,
I have to meet
