Webinar on 5 Things to Proactively Address in Youth Ministry

Jacob Eckeberger
October 31st, 2016

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting Joel Stepanek, Director of Resource Development for LIFETEEN and regular YS BLOGGER, for the FREE webinar, “Stepping Up: 5 Issues to Proactively Address.” Check out a recap of the webinar below:

In this webinar, Joel guided us through five of the most important issues a youth worker should be preparing to address long before any problems arise:

  • ISSUE 1: Safe Environment / Sensitive Pastoral Care
    • What do you need to do to create safe environment training with a pastoral plan for sensitive situations involving:
      • LGBT teens
      • Situations of disclosures of abuse
      • Death of parent
      • Divorce, breakups, etc.
  • ISSUE 2: Tragedy
    • How do you create a pastoral plan for your ministry that includes action steps for local tragedies, world tragedies, and ready-to-use ideas that can be implemented right away?
  • ISSUE 3: Negativity
    • How do you combat negativity in your ministry, among your leadership, and adults while also planting positivity?
  • ISSUE 4: Health and Balance
    • How do you maintain physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health in the busyness of ministry?
  • ISSUE 5: Burnout
    • How do you prevent burnout for you, your family, your teens, and your volunteers?

Be sure to check out more great resources at LifeTeen International and get even more training with thousands of other youth workers at this year’s National Youth Workers Convention.
